The Van Buren High School Concert Band
forms at the close of the marching band season each year.
Members are in grades 9-12 and receive one academic
credit for their efforts. Directed by Nationally Board
Certified teacher Rick Eakin, the group has received numerous
awards and achievements over the past several years,
including two Superior rankings at State OMEA contest.
In addition to concert band, high school musicians are
eligible to audition for the Hancock County Honors Band,
the District III OMEA Honors Band, participate in Solo and
Ensemble Contest, and are encouraged to play in the
basketball pep band.
