Here are some sites related to music we find helpful.
OMEA -
The official website of the
Ohio Music Education Association.
MENC - Music Educators
National Conference. Music advocates everywhere
should check out this web site - it's comprehensive and
built for students, parents, and teachers alike!
District III OMEA - An
often-updated website that deals with happenings in
District III, the district that Van Buren Local Schools is
located in. Dates for some area schools' concerts
are included here, as well as information for Solo and
Ensemble contests, and Large Group contests.
Music research and info sites - this links you to
our library web page. Thanks to Mrs. Teaman for
compiling this great listing of sites - check here first!
Finale -
the music notation program that Mr. Eakin prefers to use.
One of the first music notation programs ever developed,
Finale has become a favorite for music educators and
composers alike. The site includes a link to NotePad,
a free music notation program that has many features
suitable for beginning student composers.
Sibelius -
the music notation program that Mr. Vaughn prefers to use.
Sibelius has evolved into what the original creators,
Jonathan and Ben Finn, wanted - a music notation program
that looks and feels like writing music directly on paper.
Music Games and Worksheets - want to brush up on
some music terms or just play some games? Do it
musically! Check out these games and worksheets.
Best of all, they are free!
