### 7th GRADE MATH Ch. 10: Geometry Resources

Below, you will find resources and tools (blog, class presentations, videos, websites) to enhance your understanding of the geometry topics covered in class. The SMARTBoard lessons that are presented in class are here in PDF format. Please keep in mind that these files will not be interactive like the class presentations due to the PDF format.

This website offers A TON of videos and practice problems related to geometry. You can find these problems in "Geometry": "Vertical, Complementary, and Supplementary Angles", "Missing Angle Measures", and "Constructing Triangles" are all sections that are available for students throughout this unit. Please use these excellent resources throughout the unit.

This website explains the difference between Supplementary and Complementary Angles, provides a way to remember the difference, and enables you to explore these angles using an interactive tool!

This resource is an interactive video that provides information about angles. I have embedded several questions to answer while watching the video. These questions will allow you to pause and reflect upon the content and your learning. Please take time to answer them. Note: Use Google Chrome to access the video!

This video is a review of how to find a missing angle in a triangle when given two of the three angles. This resource is interactive and has several multiple choice questions that you need to answer while viewing. Please take your time to answer these questions correctly. NOTE: Use Google Chrome when viewing the video!

This is an interactive video that walks you through each of the six different classifications of triangles. The video has embedded questions. Please take time to answer these. NOTE: Use Google Chrome to access the video!

Prepare for the Chapter 10 quiz by reviewing the vocabulary related to angles and triangles!

This is a song that goes through the different types of quadrilaterals. There are no embedded questions, just watch to review the characteristics of each quadrilateral! NOTE: Remember to use Google Chrome when accessing the video!

The beginning of this video reviews the characteristics of each different type of quadrilateral. The second portion demonstrates problems that involve solving for a missing angle in a quadrilateral. There are questions embedded during the video. Please take time to answer these questions. NOTE: Use Google Chrome to access the video!

Use this video to review using similar triangles and indirect measurement to find the height of tall objects (like trees or flagpoles). Remember to pause to answer the embedded questions!

This video reviews corresponding angles and corresponding sides of similar figures. You will find angles of similar figures and set up proportions to calculate missing sides! Please remember to take time answering the embedded questions.

This video reviews the process of calculating the sum of interior angles of different polygons. Remember to take time to answer the embedded questions. (6 minutes)

This link takes you to the Educanon site where you will have to sign in to view the videos this week. Videos that are posted for this week are categorized by due date now. A list of the videos posted so far this week are listed below:

*Finding the Interior Angles of Polygons

*Tessellations Slideshow

There will be a matching section on your Chapter 10 Test. Please review these terms and definitions to prepare!

### 7th GRADE MATH Ch. 11: Geometry & Measurement of 2D and 3D Figures

Below you will find tools (blog, class presentations, videos, websites) to enhance your understanding of Chapter 11 concepts. The SMARTBoard lessons that are presented in class are here in PDF format. Please keep in mind that these files will not be interactive like the class presentations due to the PDF format.

This file contains 12 composite figures to practice calculating the area. The answer key is provided as the last page in the file so that you can check your progress!

Interactivate is an online tool where you can explore how changing the dimensions of rectangular prisms or triangular prisms changes the surface area and volume. There is also an option to practice calculating the surface area and volume of prisms. This tool is a GREAT visual for 3D prisms!

You will have to print this puzzle in order to play at home. The current display is the answer key! The puzzle reviews calculating the volume of prisms and cylinders.

This file contains 12 posters where you can practice calculating the area of 2D figures, classifying 3D shapes, drawing 3D figures, and calculating the volume of 3D figures. The answer key is included as the last page. Please use to prepare for the unit test.

Please use this review worksheet to help you prepare for the Area and Volume test!

This interactive site reviews circle concepts and also provides real-world examples for additional practice! Make sure to click "Intro", "Investigation", and "Problems".
