    VANTAGE Classroom!

     VANTAGE (Van Buren's Talented And Gifted Education) serves students who are identified gifted in Math and Reading through  Advanced Math and Advanced Language Arts  classes.  Students are placed in these sections according to their gifted  identification and strengths when they enter the 4th grade.

    4th and 5th grade Advanced Language Arts meets daily for approximately one hour. Students read and perform at the 6th-8th grade reading level.  This class replaces their regular Language Arts program.

     4th and 5th grade Advanced  Math meets daily. This class allows students to complete 3 years of  math curriculum in two years and prepares the student for 7th grade math when they enter the middle school.

    Wednesday, October 1 - Camp Glen 7:45 - 4:45 (Meet and drop-off at LB)

    Wednesday, November 12 - Gateway Church 9:30 - 1:30

    Tuesday, February 3 - University of Findlay 9:30 - 1:30

    Wednesday, May 13 - Community Service  9:30 - 1:30 (Students will need a sack lunch)

    Calamity Day Assignments:

    4th and 5th Grade Reading:

    Check Google Classroom for an assignment.  You could also spend some time on Quizlet studying Genre, Figurative Language, and Reading Achievement Quiz.  

    4th and 5th Grade Math:

    Check Google Classroom for an assignment.  You need to spend 30-40 minutes on Khan academy.  Our goal is 60% completion after Spring Break.  

    Calamity Day 7:

    4th and 5th Grade Reading:

    Spend time studying your Root Words on Quizlet and take a practice test.  

    4th and 5th Grade Math:

    Spend 30 minutes or more on Khan Academy.  

    Spend at least 10 minutes practicing your multiplication facts. 

    Calamity Day 8:

    4th and 5th Grade Reading:

    Please spend at least 30 minutes on Scootpad Reading.  Remember to take your time, I can see how much time you spend on each question.

    Spend time studying Figurative Language and Literary Devices on Quizlet and take a practice test.  

    Study Root Words on Quizlet and play a few games of Scatter.

    4th and 5th Grade Math:

    Spend 30 minutes or more on Khan Academy.  

    Spend at least 10 minutes practicing your multiplication facts.
