G is for George Washington

By Adam, Alli and Desi

George Washington (1732-1799) was the first President of the U.S.

As a young man Washington joined the Virginia militia. He had six men that traveled 500 miles to Lake Erie. In1775, Washington was chosen as the commander and chief of the colonial army. George Washington helped declare independence from Great Britain.

George Washington was commander and chief.

But for some weird reason, he didn't eat beef!

Good gracious you should've seen their faces,

when we defeated Great Britain.
