Mount Vernon is located in Fairfax , Virginia , about 15 miles [24 kilometers] south of Washington D.C.
Mount Vernon was George Washington plantation that he owned on the Potomac River, in Virginia. It is two and a half stories high and has 20 rooms.
George and Martha Washington's tombs are also located at Mount Vernon.
George Washington lived on Mount Vernon,
Where grass and flowers were placed.
A dining room where they shall feast,
And a workroom where they rest least!
