The Stamp Act of 1765 was one of the first British laws placing taxes on the colonies.

The Stamp Act was when colonists had to pay tax every time they bought a newspaper, pamphlet, or signed a legal document.

The first Stamp Act Congress was held in New York on October 1765.

The Stamp Act was repealed in March, 1766.

Saratoga was a beautiful place

With fights and wars fought with grace.

Everything is bright and cheerful;

When you go there you will want to be tearful!
