Sheryl O’Shea started as the Director of Technology at Van Buren Schools in August. Prior to coming to Van Buren, O’Shea earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Toledo and earned a PhD in Educational Leadership and Change from Fielding Graduate University. After graduating from UT, she spent eight years at Owens Corning in networking and user support before moving to Sylvania School District, where she spent twenty-six years as the Director of Technology.
While in Sylvania, O’Shea built some connections at Van Buren, and “when the Director of Technology position became available, I remembered the great people and fun, positive atmosphere and jumped at the opportunity to be able to help take the district to new heights by leveraging technology.”
O’Shea previously coached volleyball, cross country, and soccer teams at various levels and is the Scoutmaster of an all-female scout troop, where she helps “young women become confident in themselves and their abilities and ultimately become Eagle Scouts.” She also runs three miles every morning and has completed many half and full marathons.
She and her husband have three children and a dog.
