For the past two years, the United States Department of Agriculture has offered waivers to Child Nutrition Programs across the country, allowing these programs to offer all students lunch at no cost to families. Unfortunately, these waivers expired on June 30, 2022. Van Buren Local Schools and the Ohio Department of Education cannot extend the permissions for no-cost meals for all students.
Starting with the 2022-2023 school year, school meals will still be available to all students; however, they will not be free to all students. Households can begin applying for free or reduced-price meal benefits by downloading the application here or pay for lunches through PaySchools Central.
The following are lunch prices for the 2022-2023 school year:
Elementary: $2.35
Middle & High School: $2.60
Milk: $0.60
