CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY - RPM Carbide Die in Arcadia is holding an open house next Thursday, October 6, from 11:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. This is another local employer looking for local talent, which is exactly what we have here at Van Buren. Please email Carrie@RPMprecision.com to RSVP. This is a great opportunity for students and parents to visit a business so they can see what opportunities are available to students after high school and make informed decisions.

Check out the materials coming home with your student today on how you can help our school! Make sure you register and enter 10 or more contacts to get in on the FUN! #BeABlackKnight

CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY - The Law Enforcement Exploring group will be holding its next meeting on Monday, October 3, from 6:00-7:30 P.M. at the sheriff's training building on Lima Avenue.
This is a great way for students considering a career in law enforcement (police department, sheriff's department, security, military, FBI, U.S. Marshals, etc.) to get hands-on experience and start networking with professionals already in the field.
This Exploring group meets once a month to prepare to give students hands-on experience at the Halloween parade, Hancock County Fair, Balloon Fest, and other local events. The group is also planning to participate in a law enforcement competition next summer, and they will be preparing for it throughout this school year.
If students or parents have any questions related to this Exploring group, please reach out to our school resource officer and the leader of the Exploring group, Deputy Crouch, at mcrouch@vbschools.net.

Congrats to Mila for her Positive Behavior Referral! #BeABlackKnight

"Choose Your Own Happiness" is our theme for the 2022-23 school year at VB Middle School. All teachers and students received a magnet that says "Today I Choose Happiness," as a reminder that while we can't control what happens to us, we can control how we react. See if you can spot these magnets around the school! #BeABlackKnight

REMINDER: Tomorrow is picture day for elementary students! #BeABlackKnight
