Van Buren Elementary is one of five schools in the US to receive a 2022 Possibility Grant from the Siemens Foundation! The STEAM program, led by Brian Beining, has received a total of $15,000 in grant money this year. If any students are exploring the possibility of a career in law enforcement, the Hancock County Sheriff's Office is offering a Sheriff's Academy Class for nine Thursdays from 6:30-9:00 P.M. starting September 8 (read more in the article which appeared in the 7.23.22 Courier - https://mynewsonthego.com/courier/Reader/Story.aspx?id=13888d6b-996a-4478-b850-de7078c06694).
This would be a great opportunity for students to learn more about law enforcement career options before making decisions about their post-high school lives.
