Spanish III students visited the Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center in Toledo to celebrate the Day of the Dead. They viewed authentic ofrendas (altars), dedicated mariposas (butterflies) for loved ones who are no longer with us, painted their own mariposas, and prepared esquites (Mexican corn salad) for lunch. #BeABlackKnight

We are extremely proud of these seniors who earned the Seal of Biliteracy this spring! They have each demonstrated proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Spanish. As a result, they will earn a special seal on their diplomas in June. Congratulations Sara Martin, Morgan Johnson, and Jaxon Hill!

In March, the Van Buren Art Department will be hosting a student-run art show to support the Hancock County Humane Society! Paws for the Cause is an animal-themed exhibit for all of the artists of our community. Proceeds will be donated to the Humane Society to support the care and well-being of the animals in the shelter. We hope to see you there!
Paws for the Cause will begin with an opening reception on March 8th and will be open to visitors on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons until March 21st. Check out our poster for more information! Use the QR to sign up.
