Welcome home Black Knights! Below are some details and reminders as we start the 2020-2021 school year in the hybrid model. We're thrilled to get the year underway!!!
School Day
Our on-campus school day starts at 8:00am and middle school students are dismissed at 2:05pm.
Students will not be permitted to enter the building until 7:35am.
This first week:
Tuesday 9/8/20: Students in group A will attend in-person. Students in group B will not have any school responsibilities (in-person or online) until Thursday.
Wednesday 9/9/20: No in-person classes, no online assignments.
Thursday 9/10/20 and Friday 9/11/20: Students in the on-campus group B will attend in-person. Students in group A may have online assignments these days.
The hybrid calendar can be found here.
Prior to leaving for school
All students and staff are required to complete a self symptom check prior to leaving home each morning. Please make this part of your daily routine: Details here
Arriving
If you ride a bus, your driver will take your temperature. Once you arrive at school, you will enter door #9 (the auditorium) and report directly to your homebase.
If you are being dropped off or walk, please plan to arrive at school between 7:35 and 8:00am. You will enter door #30 and report directly to your homebase after your temperature check.
For car drop-off, we have two lanes for middle school students - see this map for details.
We will have "car-side" temperature checks - if a student has a temperature 100°F or higher, they will be asked to stay in the car and return home.
Dismissal
When classes dismiss at 2:05pm:
Bus riders will report directly to their busses
Students being picked up will go to the front parking lot
Masks
Per a state health order, all staff and students must wear face masks while at school.
We will provide occasional mask breaks outside and/or distanced.
We have extra disposable masks for any student forgetting his/her mask.
Homebase and Class Schedules
Students were emailed their homebase assignment and list of classes last week (to their school email account).
Homebase teachers will share the daily schedule with students.
Lunch
Students may choose to pack or buy lunch
Lunches will be eaten in homebase classrooms
Water Bottles
Students should bring a water bottle to use during the school day as we are not permitted to allow use of the drinking fountains.
We have a touchless water bottle filling station or classroom sinks that can be used for refills.
Chromebook and Supplies
A reminder that students should charge their Chromebooks prior to bringing it to school for their in-person days.
The student supply list is here.
Hybrid Online Days
For the days students are not on-campus during the hybrid model, they will use the Schoology online platform to complete assignments. We will orient students to Schoology during their first in-person days.
We do take attendance during the online days, thus students need to login to Schoology during the online days (no specific time of the day - whatever works best for them to complete their assignments).
Parents will receive an email about creating their Schoology accounts to be able to access grades and their childrens' classes this week.
