Our Science Olympiad results from last week are in and this year's team placed higher than any other team in VBMS history!
9 students competed in a total of 19 different events, ranging from Game On which asked students to code a video game, to study events about fossils and birds, to construction events like our mousetrap vehicle, and finally lab-based events like Water Quality. This group earned a ranking of 11th overall in our region! Students placed in the following events:

VBMS students demonstrated very poor rubber band shooting skills during today's Thursday Lunch Challenge. Today's contest ended in a 1-1 tie between the sixth grade (Maddie and Myka) and seventh grade (Jacob and Grace) teams. #VB1team #VBexperience

Mrs. Rodman's class went on a hunt for a buried treasure as they reviewed literary skills. Mrs. Heitkamp's fourth graders visited Mr. Greer's 7th period class to reciprocate the book project with our 8th graders. #VB1team #VBexperience
VBMS homebases raised $748.21 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through our Pennies for Patients drive. Mrs. Obenour's homebase contributed the most, which entitles them to an Olive Garden lunch! Thanks to VBMS for being a HERO SQUAD! #VB1team #VBexperience

This quarter, students are building tables and benches in our Build-it-Yourself course where they put measurement skills to the test while gaining an understanding of using tools and basic woodworking. #VB1team #VBexperience
